If you are walking around in a Stormtrooper-Costume, it happens that civilians want to see your weapon. It is emberrasing if you then have to show them a pastic-toy weapon. But using iron makes the whole thing just to heavy. You may not be able to hold it very long. A blaster made of aluminium is lightweighted and has all advantages of an iron blaster
The whole blaster is made of Aluminium with stainless screws. Just the box on the side and the front-tip are made of plastic. It is painted black and looks even better if it gets some scratches. I even installed some laserpointers into some blasters for a realistic effect.
